BEHIND THE BRAND
Ama Thea The Label was established with the vision of creating a brand centered on ethical and sustainable values. Our focus is on slow fashion, ensuring that everything we create is made with love and consideration for our planet, while offering timeless and inclusive styles.
We strive to deliver high-quality products at reasonable prices. The longevity of our garments is paramount to us, as we want each piece you purchase to stand the test of time. Our designs exude a luxurious feel, using premium materials and conscious fabrics that flatter a diverse range of body types, empowering women of all shapes and sizes. It is ingrained in our ethos to design classic pieces that will elevate your wardrobe from season to season, all while being environmentally conscious.
All our styles are crafted in limited quantities to avoid excessive production. We place great emphasis on providing a wide range of styles, colors, and prints to minimise obsolete stock. Our manufacturing methods prioritise efficiency, minimising fabric waste at every stage. We are committed to achieving zero waste by transforming leftover fabric into beautiful accessories such as scrunchies. Any remaining fabric that cannot be repurposed is sent for sustainable recycling. Furthermore, we exclusively use sustainable fabrics made from innovative yarns produced in an eco-friendly manner. For our swimwear, we use ECONYL® which is made from regenerated nylon and is obtained from discarded fishing nets, carpet fluff, and other nylon waste. By using this innovative fabric, we can help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in our oceans, thus contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment. Another practice we believe in, is using deadstock fabric. One of the main ways we use deadstock fabric is by creating limited-edition collections. By repurposing unused materials, deadstock fabric helps reduce textile waste, which is a significant issue in the fashion industry. It prevents perfectly good materials from ending up in landfill and reduces the need for new production, conserving valuable resources like water, energy, and raw materials. For our printed fabrics, we utilise water-based inks that are free from any harmful chemicals and usually opt for repurposing deadstock print fabrics.
Every single style is developed and manufactured in-house at our London factory. Manufacturing locally allows us to support our UK workforce while reducing our carbon footprint. In addition to our commitment to the environment, we take pride in providing ethical working conditions for all our machinists. The skilled men and women who sew our garments work on-site and receive a competitive wage for their hard work.
With this in mind, shop wisely.
Lots of love,
Ama Thea The Label
